MIDVALE, Utah — One of Utah’s premier high school musical theatre programs has its final curtain call this evening.
Hillcrest High students will be performing their last production on the stage that’s been at their school for 60 years.
Plans have been made to tear down the old auditorium to make way for a new one.
Several alumni came back to be part of the show, which is about a theatre closing and generations of people coming back.
“I’ve spent 39 of my 60 years here,” said Brian Bentley, a former student and choir teacher. “I see my life on that stage.”
“It’s shaped me, who I am now, and it’s a big part of my life,” said senior Sophie Greenwood. “It is weird to be wrapping it up.”
Students, faculty and the community will come together for the final production of “Follies” Saturday night.
