GRAND COUNTY, Utah — Two semi-truck drivers were killed in a head-on collision early Tuesday morning in Grand County.
The incident happened just south of Interstate 70 around 4:35 a.m.
Officials with the Utah Department of Public Safety said an International semi-truck was traveling northbound on U.S. Route 191 when it drifted to the left and crossed into oncoming traffic near milepost 154.
A Kenworth semi-truck that was traveling southbound could not get out of the way in time and collided with the International semi head-on.
DPS officials said the driver of the International semi-truck was killed on impact, while the driver of the Kenworth semi-truck was treated on scene, but passed away before they could be transported.
The crash remains under investigation.
Sgt. Cameron Roden with the Utah Highway Patrol said the road was closed for several hours in both directions while crews cleared the scene.
