WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah — Police are investigating after receiving reports of shots being fired and locating bullet holes in the front of a house.
Lt. Bill Merrett with the West Valley City Police Department said officers responded to a home near 1415 West San Carlos Dr. Thursday morning after residents reported hearing around 20 shots.
Police said a home had multiple bullet holes in the front window, and as they were investigating they could hear voices inside the building.

As a precaution, police tried to call the numbers associated with the home but didn’t get any response. Merrett said officers then set up lights and used a loudspeaker to address people in the house but still didn’t get a response.
A family member then came to the house and gave police a phone number to contact the individuals inside, and officers were able to get them to come outside.
However, Merrett said they were uncooperative and did not provide any information.
Merrett said investigators have determined two guns were used in the shooting but the firearms were not located. No injuries were reported and police were working to obtain a search warrant for the home to continue their investigation.
