Corp. Michael Gordon with the Utah Highway Patrol said they received an initial call around 4:55 p.m. about two vehicles that were involved in a road rage incident near mile marker 349 on Interstate 15 in Weber County.
“One of the involved parties called 911 to report that the other involved individual just had shot at their vehicle,” Gordon said. “They were able to give a description of the vehicle.”
Troopers eventually located the suspect vehicle on US-91 in Sardine Canyon.
Gordon said they attempted to make a traffic stop, but the driver didn’t comply.
A pursuit was then initiated.
Troopers were able to spike the vehicle, according to Gordon, which caused the driver to lose control of the car. It rolled before coming to a stop near US-91 and Mount Sterling Road.
Gordon said the driver was able to walk out of the car and then was taken safely into custody.
Troopers on scene did find firearms in the vehicle, according to Gordon.
They are currently investigating whether or not shots were actually fired.
The suspect’s identity has not been released.
