CEDAR CITY, Utah — A 66-year-old man was killed in a single-vehicle crash Monday morning.
According to officials with the Cedar City Police Department, an Iron County Sheriff’s Office deputy responded to the scene of the crash, near 1900 North and 2300 West, before 6:30 a.m.
“The initial investigation has revealed that the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed and was unable to negotiate a sharp turn which caused the vehicle to overcorrect and roll,” read a press release from Cedar City PD.
Police say the man attempted to exit the vehicle but lost consciousness. The responding deputy and other officers provided medical assistance until EMS arrived, but the man died from his injuries at the scene.
Officers said the man is a Cedar City resident and his name was not released, pending notification of family.
