‘Utah’s Treasure Hunt’ gives out its first clue for the $20,000 prize

SALT LAKE CITY – “Utah’s Treasure Hunt” has released its first clue and a general area to look at.
According to a press release, the organizers of the 4th annual hunt, John Maxim and David Cline, have gotten plenty of messages from treasure hunters about where they can look.
In a map sent to KSL TV, they gave a general location of where the $20,000 could be from Ogden to Spanish Fork and between Park City and Tooele.

They also sent the first clue on where to look:
Start your search with each cool morning.
Think how they would send a warning.
Around or though where two birds feed.
Look down on your faithful steed.
Rest a moment when that’s done.
Then turn now from the rising sun.
Around the heart but don’t yet stop.
Wave as you pass, Weatherstop.
Left or right it’s up to you.
One is better though both will do.
You’ll know your close with branches swinging.
Listen to the hills all singing.
Kiss the tree that’s all done.
And find the chest beneath the stone.

The “onthejohn” Instagram account lists rules and safety reminders that treasure hunters need to follow to claim the prize.
The prize is not on private property, it’s not buried, and no need for rock climbing or wacking through bushes, according to John Maxim.
