UPDATE: ‘Wet microburst’ rips off trailer home roof in Garfield County, Utah

UPDATE: The National Weather Service for Salt Lake City clarified that it was a “wet microburst” that tore off the trailer home roof Saturday afternoon.
“A wet microburst is a burst of strong thunderstorm winds accompanied by heavy rainfall,” reads the NWS statement. “We believe wind speeds were estimated in the 50-60 mph range,” during the storm.
GARFIELD COUNTY, Utah — A tornado blew into Cannonville, Utah, removing a roof from a single-wide trailer house, according to officials.
In the Garfield County Sheriff’s Office Facebook post, the tornado was reported at approximately 3:35 p.m. Saturday.
“The winds were strong enough to lift part of the roof across the highway into another yard,” reads the Facebook post.
According to the sheriff’s office, some flooding and rain were reported in the area. No injuries were reported.
Salt Lake City National Weather Service also confirmed that tornados passed through Washington County Sunday afternoon and entered Arizona.
