Three suspects arrested for rioting at a Taylorsville house party, injuring officers

TAYLORSVILLE, Utah — Police have arrested a homeowner and two other partygoers for causing a riot at a house party on Saturday night.
Sebastian Gonzalez, 49, was arrested for refusing Taylorsville Police officers’ commands during a house party near 5300 S. Royal Autumn Circle at approximately 11:11 p.m Saturday, according to arrest documents.
Gonzalez is the homeowner where the party was held, with a live band, cars illegally parked on the road, and about 60 partygoers. Neighbors complained to police multiple times during the night about the noise.
Taylorsville Police warned Gonzalez about the music earlier in the day but were called back to the party after more neighbor complaints, according to arrest documents.
“(Gonzalez) was contacted at the residence, and he was argumentative, belligerent, and yelled profanities,” state arrest documents.
He was told by police he was going to be cited, but he refused to listen to the responding officers and walked away. Gonzalez was told to stop, but he kept walking away from the Taylorsville officers.
“(Gonzalez) began resisting arrest, and officers tried to take (him) to the ground,” reads arrest documents. “Several other partygoers began assaulting officers and interfering with (his) arrest.”
21-year-old Juanito Luis Castro Rodriguez, and 24-year-old Jesenia Gonzalez, were arrested for the alleged assault against the officers.
Arrest documents state that both Rodriguez and Gonzalez grabbed officers, preventing them from arresting Gonzalez.
“Simultaneously, at least three other males were physically assaulting my backing officer, causing him bodily injury,” reads arrest documents.

The officers received cuts and bruises from the encounter with partygoers.
Sgt. Ryan Carver with the Taylorsville Police Department told KSL on Sunday that multiple Salt Lake County agencies responded to the party. None of the officers were placed on leave.
Gonzalez was arrested for riot causing bodily injury/property damage, failing to stop at the command of law enforcement, interfering with an arresting officer, two counts of disorderly conduct, and intoxication.
Rodriguez and Gonzalez were arrested for rioting causing bodily injury/property damage, and interfering with an arresting officer.
