Winter weather advisories in effect for northern Utah through noon

SALT LAKE CITY — Winter weather advisories are now in effect for all of the Wasatch Front, Tooele County, Cache County and far eastern Box Elder County until noon Wednesday.
“Winter driving conditions are expected through the morning commute on many area routes. Slow down and allow extra time to reach your destinations,” read the advisories.

These areas could see another 1″ to 3″ of snow on top of overnight accumulations. Following a break this afternoon, KSL meteorologist Matt Johnson says another round of light snow is possible tonight into Thursday morning.
Very cold air will move in on Thursday with highs in the upper 20 for northern Utah and 30s and 40s in the south.

Sgt. Cameron Roden with the Utah Highway Patrol said emergency crews have responded to 18 crashes since midnight, mostly in Salt Lake County. They had already responded to over two dozen crashes Tuesday night.

School delays
So far, only the Provo School District has announced a two-hour delay for classes on Wednesday.
