SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Transit Authority confirmed that a person was hit and killed by a TRAX train near City Creek Center Saturday evening.
According to UTA police’s Lt. John Morrow, a 61-year-old man was traveling alone on the Northbound blue line with a bike. When he got off the train, the man lost his balance and fell backward between two train cars and was dragged.
UTA tweeted that TRAX service would be delayed until midnight, with a bus bridge running between Gallvain Plaza and Temple Square.
On Sunday, UTA spokesperson Carl Arky identified the 61-year-old man as Blair Provstgaard.
