A Call To Service

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints counseled members to help refugees. This call to service inspires people to step outside their comfort zones, and help those most in need.

In this KSL-TV General Conference documentary, KSL News Specialist Deanie Wimmer learned the story of a young woman who takes this calling seriously. Her successful nonprofit serves this vulnerable community and makes a real difference. These families fled their dangerous homelands, and she helps provide much of what they need.

Refugee Camps

In addition, members of the church travel to refugee camps. As a result, they show compassionate care at sensitive and dangerous moments. Still, others serve closer to home and help in their own communities. Consequently, the movement to help refugees grows.
