Votes Close In Mia Love, Ben McAdams Race

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – U.S. House District 4 is a key undecided race, and it’s one that looks as though it may drag on for days to come.
Incumbent Republican Rep. Mia Love is in a hotly-contested battle against Democrat Ben McAdams. As of 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, 68% of the votes were in, with McAdams at 51 percent and Love at 49 percent.
McAdams told his supporters late Tuesday that it’s looking good for him, but it’s not over yet.
“I think it’s going to take a few days before we know the outcome of this election,” he said. “If we win, this will be a win for people over politics.”
Rep. Love said she is also optimistic as many votes from Utah County — an area that strongly supports her — still have to be counted.
“We knew that this was going to take awhile,” she said. “There’s still tens of thousands of votes that are out there. If you look at the trajectory, we feel really good.”
Salt Lake County is expected to give updates on those results sometime Wednesday, and other counties will be providing updates later in the week.
