Police Release 911 Calls After Vehicle Allegedly Stolen With Child Inside

TOOELE, Utah — Police have released the 911 call from an alleged carjacking where police said a man stole an idling car with a 10-year-old boy still inside the vehicle.
The incident happened Tuesday morning near 1900 North and Berra Boulevard in Tooele.
In the audio released by Tooele County Dispatch Wednesday, a woman can be heard saying, “Somebody just stole my car and my son was inside!”
Officials said the suspect ordered the 10-year-old to get out of the car after driving a half-block from the driveway; the boy was “shook up” but was safe at home, according to his father.

Officers were still searching for the suspect, who police said drove the stolen vehicle to an apartment complex near 8400 West and 2900 South in Magna.
The suspect then left the vehicle and fled on foot; police said there is no threat to the community.
