SALT LAKE CITY, Utah — Actor and singer-songwriter Jared Leto donated $5,000 to the GoFundMe for two Sandy toddlers, who were hit by a car on Oct. 8.
Leto, who is known for his role as “The Joker” in the 2016 film “Suicide Squad” and as the lead singer of Thirty Seconds to Mars, posted about the donation on his Instagram story, saying he donated after being nominated for the #GoodThingChallenge by a friend.
Police said the boys’ mother was pushing them in a stroller when they were struck by a car while using a crosswalk near 1850 East Sego Lily Drive in Sandy.
The mother was released in good condition the day of the crash; the older boy was taken by medical helicopter to Primary Children’s Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The mother and the younger child both suffered non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.
According to the GoFundMe* page, the boys were 3-year-old Griffin and 18-month-old Watson. The page said Griffin was still in the pediatric intensive care unit with a skull fracture and broken clavicle but both boys are in stable condition.
