SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – A wine subscription bill has made its way through the Utah legislature, and the state is now one step closer to allowing residents to enroll in wine subscription services.
The Senate on Tuesday unanimously passed the bill that would allow residents to have single bottles of wine shipped to the Utah Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control, where they can be picked up. The bottles will have a nearly 90-percent markup.
The House also passed the vill with a unanimous vote.
The bill also revamps Utah’s anti-bootlegging laws, allowing for up to 12 bottles of wine to be brought into the state without penalty.
The bill has been sent back to the Senate for a final review before it heads to the governor’s desk.
