Orchard, Lincoln Wildfires Erupt Near Utah Lake In Utah County

LAKE SHORE, Utah — Two new wildfires have broken out in Utah County, according to fire officials. The Orchard Fire and Lincoln Fire erupted near Utah Lake just before 5:00 p.m. Monday.
Officials said the Orchard Fire was estimated to be 20+ acres in size, while the Lincoln Fire was estimated to be a few acres.

The Orchard Fire quickly grew to 80 acres.

Air and ground crews were called in to fight the blazes.
No evacuation orders were made.
Fire officials later confirmed the Lincoln Fire was caused by target shooters that hit an exploding target over dry vegetation.

The cause of the Orchard Fire is currently under investigation.
