MIDVALE, Utah – Officials with the Unified Police Department have identified a woman who was killed in a shooting in Midvale on Friday.
Police said 39-year-old Teresa Marie Alires, of Salt Lake City, was shot and killed near a hotel at 6962 South Bingham Junction Boulevard.
A 36-year-old man was also injured in the shooting and was hospitalized. He was released Monday into Adult Probation & Parole custody after police said he violated his parole.
Unified police were looking for a man and woman witnesses said were spotted running northwest toward the Topgolf, located at 920 West Jordan River Boulevard.
UPD Sgt. Melody Cutler said the man was believed to be wearing dark clothing and the woman was wearing a floral top and jeans.
Cutler said police were separately seeking a 2005 white Cadillac CTS that was spotted leaving the area.
It remained unclear whether the man and woman or the vehicle were somehow connected to the crime or if perhaps they had witnessed something, according to Cutler.
Anyone with information in the case was asked to call the Unified Police Department at 801-743-7000.
