SALT LAKE CITY — Three people were taken into custody after they led troopers on a pursuit along Interstate 80, according to the Utah Highway Patrol.
UHP Trooper Mikki Vartas said the pursuit began at mile marker 141 on eastbound I-80 just before 1:30 p.m. Sunday.
When troopers attempted a traffic stop, the vehicle took off.
Vartas said the pursuit ended after the car exited the freeway. But not long after, the vehicle got back on I-80, heading in the westbound direction, and troopers continued the pursuit.
The car made it as far as mile marker 126 before it crashed.
Additional details about the crash were not immediately available.
Vartas said the three occupants, who have not been identified, were taken into custody.
No one was injured during the incident.
