TOOELE, Utah — A big cleanup project began in Tooele City on Monday after flash flooding damaged dozens of homes and many businesses.
Every single person KSL-TV spoke to in Tooele said they have never seen flooding like what they experienced on Sunday.
Unfortunately, the extreme weather damaged areas all across the city. It actually led to the closure of two canyons — Middle Canyon and Settlement Canyon.

KSL-TV was allowed up Middle Canyon Monday to get a closer look at the damage.
Rocks and debris were scattered across the roadway and water marks that were left behind showed how quickly water flowed through the canyon.
Assistant County Manager Britany Lopez said 34 homes suffered water damage, as well as three businesses and three city facilities.
Video of a manhole covering that overflowed on Main Street showed water rushing through the streets, forcing cars to drive through flooded intersections.
