OGDEN, Utah — KSL TV’s Casey Scott was in Ogden Thursday morning at The Picklr — a new facility that shows how the fastest-growing sport in the U.S. is taking hold here in Utah.
Pickleball was invented in 1965 on Bainbridge Island, near Seattle, Washington, after three dads came together to create a new activity for their kids.
By 1990, pickleball was being played in all 50 states. The game debuted in the Huntsman World Senior Games, held annually in St. George, in 2003.
The Picklr is a new facility that features seven indoor courts and two championship courts.
