One dead in Grand County after pickup truck making U-turn hit by semi

GRAND COUNTY, Utah — Officials with the Utah Department of Public Safety said a pickup truck driver was killed in a crash on U.S. Highway 191 early Saturday morning.
The crash happened at 2:22 a.m. near milepost 149, approximately 8 miles south of the Interstate 80 junction.
Troopers say the Nissan pickup truck was heading southbound on U.S. 191 when it pulled over to the right shoulder for unknown reasons and subsequently made a U-turn.
The Nissan was then struck by a semi-truck pulling a tank of liquid nitrogen.
The Nissan’s driver was pronounced dead at the scene while the driver of the semi-truck was not injured.
Authorities have not released the Nissan driver’s identity.
In West Jordan, a 27-year-old Sandy was killed in a crash in West Jordan, marking the second fatal crash on Saturday.
