Gov. Cox orders flags lowered in memory of Queen Elizabeth II

SALT LAKE CITY — Utah Gov. Spencer Cox has ordered flags be lowered to half-staff in honor of Queen Elizabeth II, who died Thursday at the age of 96.
Flags will remain lowered until sunset on the day of her interment.

“Private citizens and businesses are encouraged to participate as well,” read a Thursday afternoon statement from the Governor’s Office.
The announcement comes after the U.S. flag was lowered at the White House and the U.S. Capitol.
The flag on top of the White House has been lowered to half-staff in memory of Queen Elizabeth II, who died Thursday at the age of 96.
