SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Leaders of the effort to get the 2030 bid for the Winter Olympics said tax dollars will not be needed to pay for the games.
The budget for 2030 is a proposed $1.4 billion, but organizers said the investment from state and local taxes is zero dollars.
The only tax money would come from the federal government, which pays for security for all Olympics in the United States.
The National Weather Service issued a winter storm warning for the Wasatch and western Uinta mountains ahead of a "significant late season storm" that could dump as much as 1 to 2 feet in parts of the region between Sunday and Tuesday.
