Utah Wildfire Costs Estimated To Pass $10 Million

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The cost of fighting wildfires in Utah is expected to pass the $10-million dollar mark this year.

The estimate came after officials with wildland fire agencies said they have responded to and suppressed 706 wildfires in 2019.

Over 90% of those fires were extinguished before reaching 10 acres and 65% were human-caused.
