South Jordan Police Department Conducting Traffic Blitz At Area Crosswalks

SOUTH JORDAN, Utah – The South Jordan Police Department announced it will be conducting a traffic blitz Tuesday to enforce crosswalk laws.
The blitz is part of a statewide effort funded by the Utah Highway Patrol and the Utah Highway Safety Office. Tuesday’s blitz will happen from 7 a.m. – noon, and the initiative will continue through November.
“As a reminder, if a pedestrian is on your half of the roadway you must remain stopped until they are cleared from your half of the roadway,” according to a SJPD Facebook post.
That rule, however, doesn’t apply if you’re at a school crosswalk.
“Then (the pedestrians) must be cleared from the entire street,” the post states.
Officers will be at the following locations Tuesday to enforce Utah laws:
- 10200 South Jordan Gateway
- 11500 South 400 West
Other locations will be determined, according to the post.
