BusyKid App Teaches Kids About Finance, Paychecks, Lets Them Buy Stocks

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – For parents who are trying to teach their children about earning money and using it wisely, the BusyKid App just might be their new best friend.
CEO and creator of the BusyKidApp Gregg Murset is a dad, and he said he wanted his kids to learn the basics of budgeting.
“Gone are the days of the piggy bank sitting up on the dresser,” he said. “… Forget about all that stuff because who has the cash to even do that?”
The app essentially becomes children’s boss, paying them for whatever jobs parents deem valuable. Kids can also track their paychecks through the press of a button.
“That’s what you need to learn is earning and then saving, sharing and spending,” Murset said. “If you get those fundamentals, you’re going to be in good shape.”
“These kids are going to start getting it real quick,” he added.
The BusyKid app is free to use. For $7.99 a year, parents can set up a debit card that children can use to access their own money.
The app even allows kids to purchase real stocks — even if it’s just a percentage of a share. This helps children earn real-world experience as they get a meaningful introduction to finance.
