School Districts, Government Offices Announcing Closures And Cancellations

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – School district officials across the state are keeping an eye on a winter storm that is expected to drop four to eight inches of snow across Utah valleys with higher amounts possible in the Salt Lake and Tooele valleys, along with benches across the Wasatch Front.

THE ACADEMY FOR MATH, ENGINEERING AND SCIENCE (Murray): School will be closed Monday.

ALPINE SCHOOL DISTRICT: Due to heavy snow and dangerous road conditions, officials canceled classes for all schools in the district.

ASCENT ACADEMY (All Locations): All Ascent Academy locations are closed.

BOX ELDER COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT: Preschool and kindergarten classes canceled, first through 12th grades will have a two-hour late start Monday.

BRIGHAM YOUNG UNIVERSITY: Classes will still be held Monday. Officials reminded travelers to use caution while out on the roads.

CACHE COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT: All Cache County offices will be on a two-hour delay, which means they will not be open until 10:00 a.m. Monday.

CANYONS SCHOOL DISTRICT: District officials announced just after 5 a.m. that all schools and district offices will be closed Monday.

CAPITOL HILL ACADEMY (Salt Lake City): Will not be holding classes Monday.

CARDEN MEMORIAL SCHOOL (Salt Lake City): School will be closed Monday.

CHARTER RIM ACADEMY (Salt Lake City): Classes were canceled on Monday.

THE CHILDREN’S CENTER (Kearns & Salt Lake City): Schools were closed Monday.

CHILDREN’S DISCOVERY SCHOOL (East Millcreek): Officials said the school will be closed.

CITY ACADEMY CHARTER SCHOOL (Salt Lake City): School will be closed.

CLEARFIELD CITY GOVERNMENT: City offices could be delayed in opening. Snowplows will clear major arteries before the morning commute.

CLINTON CITY COURT: Offices will be closed Monday.

DANCING MOOSE MONTESSORI SCHOOLS (All Locations): School will be closed Monday.

DAVIS COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT: Offices will have a delayed opening. Services will begin at 10 a.m. Monday.

DAVIS SCHOOL DISTRICT: Officials announced a two-hour late start for all schools and facilities on Monday. Kindergarten and preschool classes are canceled.

EAST HOLLYWOOD HIGH SCHOOL: Two-hour delay for Monday.

ELIZABETH ACADEMY (Millcreek): Officials announced that school was closed for the day.

ENTHEOS ACADEMY (Kearns & Magna): School will be closed Monday.

FREEDOM PREP ACADEMY (All Locations): Officials announced that all locations will be closed for the day.

GARFIELD SCHOOL (Sugarhouse): School will be closed Monday.

GRACE LUTHERAN (Sandy): School officials announced just before 6 a.m. the school will be closed Monday.

GRANITE SCHOOL DISTRICT: We received reports that officials issued a two-hour late start for all schools in the Granite School District. They followed up with an announcement that all high schools will start at 9:30 a.m. Preschool and morning kindergarten classes were canceled.

HAWTHORNE ACADEMIES: All Hawthorne schools will be closed Monday.

HERRIMAN HIGH SCHOOL: Officials announced a late start for the school. Classes will begin at 9:30 a.m.

HOLLADAY CITY HALL & JUSTICE COURT: Due to weather conditions, Holladay City Hall and Justice Court will be closed today. Business will resume tomorrow morning at 8 a.m.

IRON COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT: Classes are still in session. Officials said buses will be running, but there might be delays.

JORDAN SCHOOL DISTRICT: All Jordan School District Schools are now closed.

JUAB SCHOOL DISTRICT: All schools were closed Monday due to winter weather conditions.

JUAN DIEGO CATHOLIC SCHOOLS: All Juan Diego Catholic Schools located in the Draper area were canceled. The announcement was sent out just before 5:30 a.m.

JUDGE MEMORIAL CATHOLIC SCHOOL (Salt Lake City): School will be closed for the day.

LAKEVIEW ACADEMY (Saratoga Springs): School will be on a two-hour delay.

LAYTON CHRISTIAN ACADEMY: A class-cancellation order was issued by school officials around 5:30 a.m Monday.

LEADERSHIP LEARNING ACADEMY (Layton and Ogden): The Layton and Ogden locations will have a two-hour late start.

LDS BUSINESS COLLEGE: Due to the extreme winter weather, all classes at LDS Business College were canceled Monday.

LUMEN SCHOLAR INSTITUTE (Orem): There will be no classes held on campus today, but classes will be available online.

MADELEINE CHOIR SCHOOL: Officials said the school will not be holding classes today.

MANA ACADEMY (West Valley): Officials announced that all classes will be canceled.

MATHESON COURTHOUSE: Delayed opening until noon Monday.

MONTICELLO ACADEMY (West Valley): Classes have been canceled.

MT. VERNON ACADEMY (MURRAY): School was officially closed Monday.

MURRAY CITY COURT: Will be closing at 2 p.m. Monday.

MURRAY SCHOOL DISTRICT: District officials announced that all schools in the district will be closed.

NEBO SCHOOL DISTRICT: According to the school’s website, all schools in the district were canceled Monday.

NORTH DAVIS PREPARATORY CHARTER SCHOOL (Layton): Officials announced that the school will be on a two-hour delay, but that kindergarten classes will be canceled for the day.

NUAMES: Both Layton and Ogden NUAMES Early College High School locations will start two hours late. Parents will be notified if school is to be canceled.

OGDEN SCHOOL DISTRICT: District officials announced that all school start times and bus routes would be delayed two hours.

PARADIGM SCHOOLS (South Jordan): Officials announced that school was canceled Monday and that a make-up day will be announced at a later date.

PARK CITY SCHOOL DISTRICT: Officials with the Park City School District issued a two-hour late start for all schools in the area.

PRESTON SCHOOL DISTRICT: All classes were canceled.

PROVO SCHOOL DISTRICT: Officials announced that all schools will be canceled for the day.

ROWLAND HALL (Salt Lake City): Officials announced the school will be closed Monday.

SAINT ANDREW CATHOLIC SCHOOL (Riverton): Officials announced the school will be closed Monday.

SANDY CITY GOVERNMENT: All non-essential city services will function via telecommuting or be on emergency leave until noon on Monday. Trash collection may be delayed by one day this week.

SALT LAKE CITY GOVERNMENT: All non-essential city services will be on a delay until noon Monday.

SALT LAKE COMMUNITY COLLEGE: All campuses were eventually closed Monday. Officials said classes will resume Tuesday.

SALT LAKE COUNTY GOVERNMENT: Salt Lake County Mayor Jenny Wilson decided to close the Mayor’s Office portfolio Monday for non-essential employees on account of the inclement weather, however, the closure does not apply to other independent elected officials.

SALT LAKE COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT: All facilities will be closed due to the snowstorm. Regular business will reopen Tuesday morning at 8.

SALT LAKE CITY AIRPORT: Delays of 60 to 90 minutes are continuing as aircraft catch-up to their set schedules. Snow removal is transitioning to clean-up mode.

 

SALT LAKE CITY SCHOOL DISTRICT: Just before 6 a.m., officials announced that all schools and district offices will be closed in order to keep students and employees safe.

SOUTH SALT LAKE CITY COURT: Will be closing at noon Monday.

SOUTHERN UTAH UNIVERSITY: Classes scheduled to run as normal Monday. An announcement will be made by 6 a.m. if there are any delays or closures.

SPECTRUM ACADEMY: ALL locations in North Salt Lake City have a two-hour delay Monday. Pleasant Grove is CLOSED.

SUMMIT COUNTY COURTHOUSE: Delayed opening until noon Monday

SYRACUSE ARTS ACADEMY: AM kindergarten classes canceled and morning classes will start two hours late.

SYRACUSE CITY COURT: Offices will be closed Monday.

TOOELE COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT: Officials said all schools in the Tooele County School District will now be on a two-hour delay.

TOOELE COURTHOUSE: Delayed opening until noon Monday

UNIVERSITY OF UTAH: All classes before 12:30 p.m. Monday were canceled. They later announced that all afternoon and evening classes would be canceled. Classes were expected to resume Tuesday. The University of Utah Health System and hospitals remained open.

UNIVERSITY OF UTAH DENTISTRY: All classes before 12:30 p.m. are canceled. Clinics will remain open.

UTAH SCHOOLS FOR THE DEAF AND THE BLIND (All Locations): All locations closed on Monday due to winter storm conditions.

UTAH COLLEGE OF DENTAL HYGIENE: Classes will be delayed until 12:30 p.m.

UTAH COURT OF APPEALS & UTAH SUPREME COURT: Offices will be delayed in opening until noon Monday, and no hearings will be taking place.

UTAH STATE LEGISLATURE: Morning legislature committee meetings in both the House and Senate will be delayed one hour to 9 a.m. and floor time will begin at 11:30 a.m. Monday.

UTAH STATE OFFICES: Gov. Gary Herbert announced state offices will be closed until noon on Monday.

UTAH STATE UNIVERSITY: All Utah State campuses are open and operating on a regular schedule. Officials did warn travelers to use caution while out on the roads.

UTAH VALLEY UNIVERSITY: Campuses will remain open today, and all classes will remain as scheduled.

VENTURE HIGH SCHOOL: Two-hour late start for Monday.

WEBER SCHOOL DISTRICT: All schools will be on a two-hour delayed start.

WEBER STATE UNIVERSITY: All Weber State campuses and centers will be open and operating under normal hours. Officials said to take extra time, if necessary, to travel safely.

WEST JORDAN COURTHOUSE: Delayed opening until noon Monday

WESTMINSTER COLLEGE: All classes at the university were canceled.

WEILENMANN SCHOOL OF DISCOVERY: Officials announced that the charter school located in Summit Park will be closed.

The KSL Weather team expects northern and central valleys to see four to eight inches of snow while benches and other areas could see up to 12 inches by the end of the storm.

Three to six inches could fall before the Monday commute in Davis County, according to KSL Meteorologist Dan Guthrie.
