SLC Police Say Missing Teen, Daughter Located

UPDATE: Officials with the Salt Lake City Police Department said Eugenia Martinez-Juarez, 17, and her 3-year-old daughter, Sandra Martinez-Juarez, have returned home and are safe.

Police said the two girls were located Tuesday, four days after they were reported missing.

“We will be talking with the young ladies to find out where they were spent the last couple days,” police said. “Glad they are safe!”

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Officers with the Salt Lake City Police Department are asking the public’s help in the search for a missing teen and her daughter.

Eugenia Martinez-Juarez, 17, reportedly left with her 3-year-old daughter Sandra Martinez-Juarez, on Thursday at 2 p.m. 

Police said Eugenia took her daughter to go job searching. She was last seen in the area of 200 South and Pueblo Street.

Police report she was wearing a grey jacket, grey pants and pink and grey shoes.

“We don’t have any new leads,” said Detective Michael Ruff, public information officer with the Salt Lake City Police Department said. “By the time they were reported missing, we had missed the window of opportunity to use our K9 unit to sniff out clues.  We are hoping somebody saw the pair in the past 24 hours, so we can narrow our search.”

Eugenia Martinez-Juarez’s family reported her missing on Friday.

“She wasn’t driving a car. She left on foot. We are unsure of her intended final destination. People have asked to help search, but we don’t have a specific location to guide them,” Ruff said.

The mother and daughter have qualified to be listed on the National Index for People who are Missing.
