Herriman Police Searching For Suspect In Home Invasion & Assault

HERRIMAN, Utah – Police are looking for the man who broke into a home and assaulted a woman on Dec. 6. The victim’s boyfriend, Milton Calderon, said the couple stepped out of the home for only a couple of minutes when a man entered the residence through the front door.
“He must have been watching us as we left and turned around the corner,” Calderon said.
Calderon’s girlfriend returned home and walked upstairs where he said she was immediately assaulted by the man.
“She kind of saw something out of the corner of her eye and so she turned around and saw this guy with a hoodie on,” he said. “He put his arm around her and said ‘bye [explicit word]’ and then kind of choked her out and that’s all she remembers.”

Calderon was a minute behind her and walked into the home after hearing the commotion.
“The first thing I saw was this guy walking out of the bathroom and I saw her feet just laying on the ground,” he said.
He said the two got into a fight, he then pushed the suspect down the stairs and threw him out of the house. Ring doorbell camera captured the aftermath.
“You kind of hear the scuffle right before I pull him out and then I grab him and I kind of throw him out,” he said.
The attack left his girlfriend with a raised bruise on her forehead and wounds around her neck.
“Whether he was trying to rape her, who knows,” Calderon said. “He’s done it before or something similar to it because there was no hesitation.”
Herriman Police said this was not the only crime in the neighborhood that night. A noise disturbance call and a fight in progress are believed to be linked to a party a few streets away.
“We had several calls in the area from about midnight until about 4:00 in the morning,” Lt. Zach Adams with the Herriman Police Department said. “No suspects have been identified.”
Police are working off of Ring video and witnesses to find the suspect, something Calderon hopes will happen soon.
“If he got away with it, just that confidence builds that he can do it again so I hope he gets caught,” Calderon said.
