WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah — A man has died after his vehicle struck the front bumper of another car while changing lanes, causing it to spin out and crash into a nearby tree.
The incident occurred around 10:30 p.m. Saturday on Redwood Road near 2500 South in West Valley City.
Sergeant John Pittman with the West Valley City Police Department said 19-year-old Jesus Torres was traveling southbound on Redwood Road at a high rate of speed, passing in and out of traffic. He pulled in front of another car “too quickly,” striking the front bumper. The impact caused Torres’ car to spin out, break a telephone pole and crash into a four-plex, police said.
