Witnesses sought in fatal overnight Salt Lake shooting

SALT LAKE CITY – Police are looking for witnesses who saw a fatal shooting in Salt Lake City early Saturday morning.
Police responded to reports of gunshots near 900 South Edison Street around 1:30 a.m.
They found a man on the ground with a gunshot wound but first responders were not able to save his life.
The shooting began with an isolated fight between a group of people. Police said several witnesses ran from the scene.

Investigators asked anyone with information, videos, or photos of the incident to call police.
The victim’s name has not been released.
