Allen’s father, Jonathan Allen, confirmed the news that same night to KSL’s Debbie Worthen. He said his daughter is alive and with officers, and that they are still waiting for more details.
The 19-year-old went missing Monday night and was said to be facing “a major mental health crisis and needs help.”
Surveillance video showed her leaving her dorm room in Snow Hall just before 9:30 p.m. She was wearing a skirt and a light white jacket, while carrying a plastic bag and her phone.

On Friday, her father made this plea for help to find their daughter.
“Maddie was born prematurely at 26 weeks and only 1½ pounds, with a brain bleed,” he explained. “Since then, she has faced myriad of challenges, including disability as well as mental and emotional difficulties. Despite all of this, she has overcome challenges.
Dear Maddie, if you can hear us, you’re not alone. Many people are facing similar challenges and have faced challenges like this. We know that you are brave and you are strong. We see you, and we love you beyond our ability to express. We are here for you, and we’re anxious for you to come home and be with us for Christmas.”
