SALT LAKE CITY — Shoppers have Black Friday marked on their calendars, but retailers are already rolling out deals that you can jump on right now.
In today’s “Save More, Worry Less,” KSL TV’s Tamara Vaifanua tracked down some of the deeper discounts Utahns can find to check off their holiday shopping list.
Black Friday is no longer a one-day event. It really kicked off as far back as October.
Inflation is impacting deals so, if you see something you want at a great price, there’s no need to wait and you can bypass the long lines.
“Basically, retailers know that consumers are just more stressed out this year financially because all of the prices are higher and they want to incentivize shoppers to come in and spend money,” said Kim Palmer, personal finance expert with NerdWallet.
Palmer says you want to get those popular items before they sell out.
So, if you’re in the market for appliances and electronics, those prices will dip throughout November. Walmart has “Deals for Days” sales events online and in stores – everything from tech Apple products to kitchen appliances.
At Target, they have weekly deals where you can find discounts, such as $150 off on the Dyson vacuum or $100 off on Beats headphones.
“The good thing for consumers is that it means we can spread out our spending. It doesn’t have to all hit at once so that can actually work in your favor,” Palmer said.
You can use apps such as price grabber and shop savvy, plus get online coupon codes to shop around and find the best deals.
Those loyalty programs pay off as well with exclusive offers, early access to sales and special discounts.
This year, shoppers have another powerful tool – price matching.
All of the big retailers, with the exception of Amazon, are allowing shoppers to request a price match if an item they buy goes on sale for less later in the season.
So, hang on to those receipts because you can get your money back.
