Locations of 6 international temples released

SALT LAKE CITY — The locations of six new international temples of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints have been released.
Those temples include the Kaohsiung Taiwan Temple, Ribeirão Prêto Brazil Temple, Santos Brazil Temple, Londrina Brazil Temple, Santa Cruz Bolivia Temple, and the Wellington New Zealand Temple.
“Detailed design plans for each temple are still being developed. Further information, including exterior renderings, will be made public later. Groundbreaking dates will be announced in the future,” stated a Monday press release from the Church.
Kaohsiung Taiwan Temple
The Kaohsiung Taiwan Temple, which was announced by President Russell M. Nelson in Oct. 2021, will be constructed on a 1.26-acre site located near Dachang Road and Dehua Street, Niaosong District, Kaohsiung City, Taiwan.
The temple will be single story and cover approximately 10,900 square feet.
It will be the second temple in the country, joining the Taipei Taiwan Temple.
Ribeirão Prêto Brazil Temple
Church officials say Ribeirão Prêto Brazil Temple will be built at Av. Antonio Marcal and R. Jose Brandani in Ribeirão Prêto, Brazil.
This temple will also be single story and take up approximately 32,000 square feet.
It was announced by President Nelson during General Conference in Oct. 2022.
Santos Brazil Temple
The Santos Brazil Temple, which was announced in April 2022, will be built at Avenida Doutor Waldemar Leão, 305, Jabaquara, Santos, São Paulo, Brazil.
The temple — which will be the city’s first and the third in the greater São Paulo metropolitan area — will be two stories and approximately 23,000 square feet.
Londrina Brazil Temple
The Londrina Brazil Temple will be built at Avenida: Harry Prochet, S/N, Jardim São Jorge, Londrina, Paraná, Brazil.
The temple — which was announced in Oct. 2022 — will be single story and cover approximately 32,000 square feet.
With the additions of the Londrina, Santos, and Ribeirão Prêto temples, there are now 18 temples in Brazil. Other locations — either announced, under construction, or in operation — are Belém, Belo Horizonte, Brasília, Campinas, Curitiba, Fortaleza, Maceió, Manaus, Porto Alegre, Recife, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, São Paulo East, Salvador and Vitória.
Santa Cruz Bolivia Temple
The Santa Cruz Bolivia Temple will be built at Av. Quinto Anilla y Santa Rosa (Av. Radial 27), Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia.
It will be single story and approximately 29,000 square feet.
The temple, which was announced by President Nelson in Oct. 2020, joins two other temples in Bolivia, including locations in Cochabamba and La Paz.
Wellington New Zealand Temple
Church officials say the Wellington New Zealand Temple, which is the third for the country, will be built on a 3.35-acre site located near Okowai Road and Whitford Brown Avenue, Aotea, Porirua, New Zealand.
The temple, which was announced in April 2022, will be two stories and approximately 14,900 square feet. Plans also call for an ancillary building with arrival facilities and patron housing.
It joins two other temples in New Zealand, including locations in Hamilton — which was the first temple built in the southern hemisphere — and Auckland.
