TWITTER – Sure, a mail-in ballot makes voting easier, but what about the “I Voted” sticker?

The sticker has long served as a badge of honor for all who take their civic engagement seriously, but it’s clear that mail-in voters are missing out on the tradition.

On Sunday, in a not-all-heroes-wear-capes moment, a man on Twitter finally spoke up for all those people.

The fun exchange took place when Quinn Rollins tweeted at Lt. Gov. Spencer Cox, who runs Utah elections, writing, “Hey @SpencerJCox, I’m ready to mail in my ballot, but I’m sad that mail-in voters don’t get the I VOTED sticker, which is my entire motivation for civic engagement. Can you just make some handmade stickers for me? Your crafting skills are legendary. #utpol”

The Twitter thread got even more interesting when Lt. Gov. Spencer Cox responded with, “๐Ÿ˜‚ Iโ€™ll see what I can do.”

Then a woman named Stephanie Dolan got in on the fun, tweeting a hilarious solution with the caption, “Just walk around with a postage stamp on your shirt #mailinvoter.”

Not to leave the public without an answer, Lt. Gov. Cox tweeted this message to Benjamin Wood, who also asked about a sticker, on the reasoning behind NOT mailing out stickers, “Look Ben, if we mail stickers with every ballot, a person who doesn’t vote might wear a sticker. That would lead to chaos and anarchy and the end of our Republic. We can’t let that happen! As soon as the legislature makes sticker-fraud a capital offense, we will mail them.”

This thread also led to a lot of laughs.

Even Facebook was weighing in, and we think Judy Landsaw may have the best idea yet!

Cox didn’t miss a beat, posting himself creating a sticker for Rollins.

AND, he didn’t stop there. He actually mailed it off.

It’s clear from this thread mail-in voters are sad they are missing out on the sticker. While this is clearly still an unresolved issue, a lot of other important issues are on the ballot.

If you haven’t registered to vote, head on over to the Utah Voter Registration Website.
