Major Taylor’s Widow Speaks Publicly For First Time Since Husband’s Death

DOVER, Del. – After Jennie Taylor received the remains of her husband, Maj. Brent Taylor, she spoke publicly for the first time Tuesday.
She spoke about how proud she was of her husband’s service and the sacrifice he made for the United States.
“It is a timeless and cherished honor to serve in our country’s armed services,” Jennie Taylor said. “That honor has been Brent’s as he served in the Utah National Guard for the past 15 years, and it has been mine for just as long as I have proudly stood by his side.”
Jennie Taylor once again stood by her husband’s side during a dignified transfer at Dover Air Force Base in Delaware.
Brent Taylor was serving in Afghanistan with the Utah National Guard when he was killed in an apparent insider attack.
His wife said she and their seven children are shattered by the events that unfolded, but she’s honored to receive her husband back in the country he loved so dearly.
“It seems only fitting that Brent, who in death now represents … something so much greater than any of our own individual lives, has come home to U.S. soil in a flag-draped casket on our Election Day,” she said.
Jennie Taylor said her husband may have died on Afghan soil, but he died for the success of freedom and democracy in both countries.
