Teen Safe After Being Swept Away By River Current

UINTAH, Utah – A 14-year-old boy is back home with his parents after he was swept away in the Weber River on Wednesday.
Authorities said the teen was wearing a life jacket and floating in the river when he missed the exit bank. He floated downstream but eventually managed to pull himself out.
Rescue crews found him about a quarter-mile down the river.
Officials across the state have been monitoring the rising rivers all week, and they continue to warn people to be extremely cautious. They’re advising people to stay away from the rushing waters.
The currents can be deceptively strong, and when someone gets swept away, it can be almost instantly critical.
