One Woman Dead, Another Seriously Injured Following ATV Crashes

KANE COUNTY, Utah — One woman has died from her injuries after she was thrown from an ATV in Kane County, while another woman was seriously injured after her ATV rolled in a different crash.
Officials with the Kane County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch said they received a call just before 1:00 p.m. Friday that a woman in her forties had been involved in an ATV accident near Coral Pink Sand Dunes.
A 45-year-old woman from Washington, Utah had been riding a 4-wheeler through a popular ATV trail and camping area called The Dry Lake Bed when she went off a sand dune and rolled her vehicle, according to a statement from the Kane County Sheriff’s Office.
She was complaining of neck, back, and leg injuries when deputies arrived.
Officials said she was transported to Dixie Regional Medical Center in a Life Flight helicopter. Her exact condition was not released.
Reports of a second ATV crash came shortly after.
Officials said they received a call about another woman in her forties who had been involved in an ATV accident.
A 48-year-old woman from Ogden had been riding an ATV just northwest of Lamb Springs near the Coral Pink Sand Dunes when she went off a large sand dune and was thrown from the vehicle.
The woman’s family and friends performed CPR, but she later died from her injuries.
The identities of the women were not released.
