SOUTH JORDAN, Utah – A man has been arrested in connection with an altercation at a South Jordan home that left three men with stab wounds, including the suspect.

Officials identified the suspect was identified as 27-year-old Andrew Russell.

The incident happened Sunday night at a home on the 5800 block of Hill Stone Drive and 11800 South in the Sunstone Village neighborhood.

There were two other people inside the home, both female. Police said the men were helping the women move.

Officials with the South Jordan Police Department said there was some kind of altercation at the address.

Lt. Matt Hennington said the suspect left the scene. When he came back around midnight, another argument ensued. The other two men – a 41-year-old and a 23-year-old – were stabbed in their torsos. The suspect was also stabbed in the back.

The three men were hospitalized for their injuries.

The 41-year-old male was flown to U of U Medical Center in Salt Lake City with life-threatening injuries. He was reported to be in critical, but stable condition.

The 23-year-old male was transported to Intermountain Medical Center in stable condition, with non life-threatening injuries.

Officials said it was staff at the hospital who called 911 emergency dispatchers to report the stabbings.

The suspect was taken to Jordan Valley Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

He was transported to the Salt Lake County Adult Detention Center following his release where he was booked on suspicion of two counts of aggravated assault and possession of a weapon by a restricted person.

The victims’ identities have not been released.

Investigators said the nature of the altercation was unclear.
