WEST JORDAN, Utah – School photos are an annual tradition for many Utah families: watching the tykes grow up through the lens of the staged shots.

Imagine paying for those school pictures, but then the photographer or studio never delivers. It happened to Utah parents who said they are still waiting on school photos.

Like many grade-school kids, Nathan and Stephanie Adams got their kids dolled up last year for picture day. As any parent can confirm, they are not free.

“We paid for them and you know, it’s something that we’re going to have for our memories,” said Nathan Adams.

The Adams’ reached out to the KSL Investigators because pictures they ordered last school year still have not arrived.

“So, we got individual headshots of the kids, but we didn’t get any class pictures,” said Nathan.

Stephanie Adams said she has school photos of her children but the photographer never sent the class photos she purchased. (KSL TV)

That’s right, the individual headshots are already framed and hanging on the wall — but the group shots are missing.

“We called them at the beginning of the school year, and still haven’t heard anything,” said Stephanie Adams.

The Adams family is not alone. The KSL Investigators have heard from other parents in Utah who are also missing the coveted group shot. So, what is going on?

We reached out to the company, Lifetouch. It told us the issue comes down to, what else, COVID-19.

“Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances caused by the global pandemic we did encounter significant delays in making these deliveries,” a spokesperson wrote.

“We want the class pictures,” said Nathan and Stephanie Adams. “We’ve all paid for it.”

And just like that, the Adams got good news. They told KSL that a few days after we contacted Lifetouch, the missing photos were delivered.

In its response, Lifetouch told us they “always strive to deliver these important memories in a timely manner as we know how much they mean to the students and families.”
