Man Died From Injuries Sustained In Price Crash

PRICE, Utah — A male driver was killed in a crash on U.S. Route 6 after debris entered his van through the front windshield, causing fatal injuries.
The crash occurred near mile marker 139 at 1:08 p.m. Thursday.
Officials with the Utah Department of Public Safety said a Ram Pro-master van was traveling eastbound on US-6, while a Ford truck, pulling a toy hauler trailer, was traveling westbound when the van crossed the center line and struck the right front corner of the trailer.
“This caused extensive damage to the trailer and a large portion of the trailer’s structure to come apart,” read the DPS press release. “Portions of the trailer entered the passenger compartment of the van through the front windshield of the van.”
Officials said the male driver passed away from his injuries.
The victim was identified as 40-year-old Clifford Sweat of Layton.
The westbound lane of traffic was closed for approximately five hours while the crash was investigated.
