Ice Castles moving to Soldier Hollow Nordic Center

MIDWAY, Utah — The popular Ice Castles are set to return to Midway, Utah this winter, but they will be formed in a new location.
Officials said Friday that the frozen attraction is moving from Homestead Resort to the Soldier Hollow Nordic Center.
It will still feature all the tunnels, caverns, towers, fountains, slides and crawl spaces built out of ice.
New this year, organizers said attendees will be able to add a horse-drawn sleigh ride through the Wasatch Valley to their Ice Castles visit.
“We are excited to partner with Soldier Hollow Nordic Center to bring the magic of Ice Castles back to Midway this winter,” said Ice Castles‘ CEO Kyle Standifird. “Our mission is to give people a place where they can escape from the hustle of daily life for a moment and step into a frozen fairy-tale world while creating a fun and safe outdoor experience.”
The castles will begin taking shape in November.
It will take the ice artisans about eight-to-12 weeks to build the experience, with opening day set for late December or early January.
Ice Castles can also be viewed in Wisconsin, Minnesota, New Hampshire and New York.
