Man dead after being hit by car in Vernal

VERNAL, Utah — Police are investigating after a 66-year-old man was struck by a car in Vernal and died.
The incident happened at the intersection of 500 West and Main Street around 8 a.m. Saturday.
Officials with the Vernal Police Department said the man was in the crosswalk when he was hit.
“Law Enforcement and Medical personnel responded to the scene and it was determined that the pedestrian was deceased,” read a Facebook post from the VPD.
Police said several witnesses have been identified and that the investigation is ongoing.
The victim’s identity has not been released.
