Parents plead for help after two teens run away from school in Riverton

UPDATE: Sunday morning Riverton Police confirmed to KSL TV that both teens have returned home.

RIVERTON, Utah — A community in Riverton is frantically searching for two teens believed to have run away.

Saturday marks nearly six days since they were last seen or heard from.

As an editorial standard, KSL-TV doesn’t normally highlight runaways out of a concern that it could do more harm than good. However, considering the teens’ age, how long they’ve been gone, we hope our coverage can help their parents bring them home.

At the Droge home, this week feels never ending.

On their kitchen table, a giant map is sprawled out as people come and go.

Everyone is here for one reason — they’re looking for two of their own.

No one has seen or heard from Ellie Droge or Ocean Pulley since the couple ran away from school Monday morning.

“Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, it’s pretty cold at night. It was raining yesterday,” said Ellie’s father, John Droge. “All these things, you just worry about your kids. You just love them.”

Ocean is the only child of Jeremy and Stacey Pulley.

“We’re just hoping the detectives or just anybody will find him,” said Stacey.

Surveillance video captured the two 13-year-olds leaving Oquirrh Hills Middle School in Riverton around 9 a.m.

Their parents think the pair then walked south along 2700 West, where another camera spotted them.

“We caught them on a Ring doorbell camera going down the street, Oquirrh View Drive, heading east towards Redwood Road,” said Droge.

Droge doesn’t think the teens have money or extra clothing.

Their activity on social media seems to have gone silent.

On Saturday, the family asked for anyone with information on their whereabouts to come forward.

Riverton police said adults found harboring the teens could face criminal charges.

You can contact the Riverton Police Department at 801-840-4000.
