SALT LAKE CITY — Several crashes have been reported Tuesday morning after a storm brought winter road conditions to Utah’s roads overnight.

“This is an intense storm, really affecting the mountain areas. We are expecting maybe up to a foot of snow in Big and Little Cottonwood (canyons),” said John Gleason, Utah Department of Transportation spokesperson.

8:15 a.m.

Salt Lake City police say they investigated seven crashes on the I-15 overpass at 600 North. They urged drivers to slow down and drive safely in these icy road conditions.

8 a.m.

Sgt. Cameron Roden with the Utah Highway Patrol says there are multiple crashes on southbound I-15 in the Lehi area. No major injuries have been reported and roads are icy, especially on overpasses.

7:30 a.m.

A crash on southbound I-15 is blocking multiple lanes. Emergency crews have temporarily stopped traffic while they work to clear the roadway.

7:15 a.m.

Drivers heading to 600 North in Salt Lake City will have to use an alternate route as police have blocked eastbound lanes near I-15 due to a crash.

UTA has expanded its FrontRunner delays to 30-35 minutes systemwide as they work with speed restrictions.

7 a.m.

A second northbound Bangerter Highway closure has been issued at 6200 South due to icy road conditions.

The highway was closed earlier near 10600 South due to multiple crashes involving eight to 15 cars.

New crashes have been reported on I-80 near Summit Park and on the southbound Foothill Road ramp to southbound I-215.

The Utah Transit Authority says FrontRunner riders should expect 20-30 minute delays for southbound trains between Murray and Provo and northbound between Salt Lake Central and Ogden due to speed restrictions.

6:30 a.m.

Northbound Bangerter Highway is closed at 10600 South due to multiple crashes. UDOT says to expect major delays and use an alternate route this morning.

Three lanes are closed on westbound I-80 near the State Street exit in Salt Lake City while crews clean up a crash and vehicle fire.

Slick conditions have been reported along I-15 between Fillmore and Mona, along with U.S. Highway 6 in Spanish Fork and Price canyons.

The traction law is currently in effect for the Cottonwood canyons.
