Two 3-year-old boys were killed while playing in an Eagle Mountain horse corral Monday night, according to the Utah County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said the driver, 25-year-old Kent Cody Barlow, of Eagle Mountain, was driving between 80 and 100 mph when he lost control and crashed through multiple fences and struck the boys, who died instantly.

The car reportedly traveled more than 300 feet after it left the private road it was on, and the boys were found 75 feet from where they were struck.

Investigators said Barlow tested positive for methamphetamine after the crash, and he admitted to recently using the drug, court documents say.

Barlow was seriously injured in the crash and was airlifted to Utah Valley Hospital, where he was treated and released before being booked into jail on several charges, including automobile homicide.
