SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah National Guard is hosting the 67th annual Veterans Day Concert on Friday, Nov. 11, in Salt Lake City.

The event — which is free and open to the public — will be held at the Tabernacle on Temple Square beginning at 7 p.m.

“We are excited to resume in-person attendance for this year’s Veterans Day concert, which has been a long-standing tradition in Utah,” said Maj. Gen. Michael Turley, adjutant general for the Utah National Guard. “The purpose of this concert is to honor all veterans, who have proudly answered the call to serve our state and nation.”

This year’s concert, titled “Remembering the Forgotten War,” will commemorate the Korean War.

“Retired Senior Master Sgt. Sterling Poulson, master of ceremonies, will highlight music performances by the Utah National Guard’s 23rd Army Band, led by Chief Warrant Officer 4 Denny Saunders, and the combined Granite School District high school choir,” read a Wednesday afternoon press release from the Utah National Guard.

During the concert, Brig. Gen. Kurt Davis, director of joint staff for the Utah National Guard, will provide remarks to honor veterans, according to the release, and highlight the support given by Utah service members during the Korean war.

The winners of the state-wide Utah PTA and Utah National Guard essay contest, as well as the recipient of the Zions Bank Veterans Service Award, will also be announced.

For those who cannot attend in person, the concert will be live streamed on the Utah National Guard Facebook page.
