4:24 p.m.

A driver was killed after his vehicle slid under a semi.

4:20 p.m.

4:12 p.m.

1:44 p.m.

UHP tweeted they are on scene of a fatal crash on SR-91 in Richmond. Details are to come.

1:38 p.m.

I-15 northbound lanes were reopened at the Box Elder-Weber County line, but southbound lanes remained closed after a crash that involved six semi trucks and 10 additional trucks and cars.

The UHP noted there were no injuries, but there was “a lot of property damage.”

1:01 p.m.

UDOT reported a crash on US 89 at 2700 North in Ogden, a crash on SR 132 at mile post 40 near Nephi, a crash on US 91 at mile post 4 near Mantua, and a crash southbound on 5600 West at 4100 South in West Valley City.

The Utah Highway Patrol tweeted it had to close I-15 at the Weber County and Box Elder County lines at mile marker 251 due to several semitruck-involved crashes in the area.

Cache County officials reported that Sardine Canyon is in “white out conditions” with multiple slide-offs. The dispatch center asked motorists not to drive in the canyon unless their vehicles are 4X4 or are equipped with chains.

Authorities also reported that a crash in Richmond on US 91 had blocked both lanes, and they asked people to avoid the area and drive slowly.

“Roads are snow packed and slick,” according to a tweet from the agency.

12:38 p.m.

Multiple crashes have closed southbound I-15 through Box Elder County. The Utah Department of Transportation has estimated the site will be cleared at approximately 1:30 p.m.

A crash also temporarily closed the highway at mile post 352 in South Willard. Officials said motorists in the area should expect delays.

12:12 p.m.

The Utah Highway Patrol reported that a semitruck slid off the road in Laketown Canyon on Highway 30 in Rich County. A second truck slid into a deupty’s vehicle. Both the driver of the truck and the deputy sustained serious injuries. The injuries to the deputy are believed to be non-life threatening.

Both the deputy and the truck driver were transported to Logan Regional Hospital. The canyon was closed in both directions as crews worked to clean up the scene and investigate the crash.

11:05 a.m.

Restrictions are in place in Little Cottonwood Canyon. According to Alta Central, all vehicles — including 4X4 — must have rated snow tires. If tires don’t have M+S or a snowflake stamp on the sidewall, then drivers must use chains.

10:46 a.m.

8:09 a.m.

About 15 semitrucks were traveling too fast for winter conditions and spun out on I-15 near Cedar City, according to a tweet from the Utah Highway Patrol. The freeway closed at about 5 a.m. Tuesday and reopened a little over three hours later.

6:15 a.m.

I-15 northbound near Cedar City is closed Tuesday morning due to several semitrucks that spun out on the slick road.
