SPRINGDALE Utah – A Search and Rescue Team is looking for an overdue hiker in Zion National Park.
Pradeep Beryl, of Salt Lake City, told friends that he was going to be hiking in the park on Tuesday, April 16. He was reported overdue by his roommate Wednesday afternoon after failing to return home.
Searchers are currently conducting a methodical ground search. Air support will be called in if needed.
According to a press release, Beryl’s cell phone was last pinged around Angels Landing at 3:30 p.m. on April 16.
“Because it is spring break, the national parks are quite busy,” according to a statement issued by Beryl’s friends. “We are hoping that someone will recognize his picture and identify a specific location. The search base is currently very broad. He has an extremely large friend group and singles ward that is actively looking for information.”
Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to contact Zion Emergency Services at 435-772-3322.
