Utah Cities Set Record Low Temperatures; St. George Hits 115 Days Without Rain

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah — Multiple cities across Utah saw record low temperatures Thursday and even colder temperatures are possible overnight into Friday.
Record low minimum temperatures were set in Fillmore (19 degrees), Levan (21), Logan (17) and at the Triad Center in downtown Salt Lake City (30).
At the Triad Center, the high temperature only reached 41 degrees, breaking the previous record of 57 degrees from 2006.
Alta only reached 25 degrees, breaking the previous mark of 30 set in 1982 while Levan (43), Tooele (43) and Lehi (45) broke records that were set in 1960.
In Provo, on the campus of Brigham Young University, a 100-year-old record of 48 degrees fell with a high of 44 degrees Thursday.
St. George Nears Record Of No Precipitation
In southern Utah, St. George saw its 115th-consecutive day without measurable precipitation.
NWS officials said the city’s record of 121 days without precipitation is likely to be broken next week.
